📸 Photo Guidelines for Your Custom Big Head

Creating a sharp, high-quality Big Head starts with a great image. The better the photo, the better the final product will look—especially when it's enlarged.

Choosing from Existing Photos? Here's What Works Best:

  • Use a high-resolution image—ideally 1MB or larger.
  • Close-up shots are best for head cutouts.
  • Make sure the photo is bright and well-lit for clear details.

Taking a New Photo? Keep These in Mind:

  • A modern smartphone is more than good enough—no need for a DSLR.
  • Fill the frame with your subject, but don’t crop out important parts like ears, hair, hands, or feet.
  • Use natural or bright lighting to avoid shadows and loss of detail.

Common Mistakes to Avoid:

  • Shared or downloaded images (from texts or social media) often lose clarity when enlarged.
  • Selfies usually use the front camera, which is lower quality than the back camera.
  • Screenshots are typically low quality and don’t print well.
  • Blurry photos often become worse when enlarged and can’t always be fixed.
  • Digital zoom lowers image resolution—get closer to your subject instead.
  • Photos of printed images may not scale well (e.g. yearbook pictures).
  • Group shots can be tricky—people may be blocked or too far away.
  • Inappropriate images will not be accepted. All content must meet our standards.
